If We Were Perfect (If Love #4)

If We Were Perfect is the fourth book in the If Love series by Ana Huang, though it is a standalone novel and can be read independently. The novel is a steamy, second-chance romance featuring two ex-lovers, Olivia and Sammy, who are forced into a close-quarters living situation. 

The story follows Olivia, a highly ambitious woman with a clear life plan: MBA, a high-ranking position on Wall Street, and a family—all by a certain age. Her meticulous plan hits a snag when her apartment floods, leaving her with nowhere to go. Out of options, she reluctantly turns to her ex-boyfriend, Sammy, for help, who agrees to let her move in. 

Sammy, a sweet baker who owns a flourishing business, hasn’t forgotten the heartbreak Olivia caused him. When she moves in, he’s determined to make her regret ending their relationship. However, the forced proximity rekindles their undeniable passion, and old feelings resurface, making it difficult for either of them to resist the other. 

As their relationship evolves from animosity back toward romance, they must confront the unresolved issues from their past, including the reasons for their initial breakup. The novel follows their journey to discover whether they can overcome their pride and insecurities to give their love a second chance, or if they are doomed to repeat the past.
